Algorithms
Algorithms are life’s unsung heroes. Typically recognized in technological contexts, they are just as pervasive in everyday life (or anything else for that matter). Nothing occurs without one or more steps. Nothing happens without process, a sequence of events, conscious or not.
It can be difficult to grasp at first, but let’s take a look at your typical morning. From the moment you wake (biological algorithm), to your desire to sleep in (mental algorithm), to your first step out of bed (physical algorithm), you are processing complex data and responding with relevant decision paths and actions.
I’ll keep this short and sweet for now. Sometime soon, I will explore how decisions are made and I will share my theories on how personal algorithms shape individuality and relate to both intelligence and efficiency.

Hi All! My name is Greg. It’s been a while since I’ve blogged, but I’ve got a lot to say, so here goes. Let’s start with a couple of great projects I’m working on:
(1) RealDirect - This is my day job where I am Director of Technology. We are a real estate brokerage melding the advantages of traditional buyer/seller techniques with technology for efficiency and client experience. We aim to bring savings and ease to all of our clients. Check out our site at realdirect.com.
(2) World of Fourcraft - This was an NYC Game Hack Day project that really took off. We took 2nd place at the event, and then received a high level of media coverage (including top trending story on mashable). Once connected to your Foursquare account via OAuth, your check-ins act as a large scale game of Risk overlaid on top of NYC neighborhoods. Check it out at worldoffourcraft.com!
